Hamilton, Ontario

Well I'm safely back in Canada after my short stint overseas! And, I know this might startle you, but I've gone straight from the culture of Europe and Asia to Hamilton, yes, Hamilton, Ontario.

The Tim Horton's chain was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario, right where I’m standing! A renovation or two has certainly been done here, but it’s where the legendary chain first began!

Lucas in London

Yes, I'm back overseas, or still overseas, or whatever is going on!

And what I mean to say, really, is "Hello mate!" Except that I'm not in Australia and I'm in LONDON! How sweet you are, ye old Europe!

Dubai

Here I am in Dubai! I was here actually a year ago, and my owner is way lazy and can't seem to post more than once every 6 months... tsk.

 We went on a waterway tour - which wasn't really thrilling, but was nice.

 Then we saw the Burj Khalifa, but couldn't go up because the elevators were acting sketchy. Poor tourists. It's insane though, this building. Your mind (especially my lamb mind) can't comprehend its size.

Then we went to the Burj Al Arab, but didn't go in because we're peasants. 

Then we went to ATLANTIS! Except didn't stay here because we're peasants. But it's beautiful!

ANYWAY, Dubai is weird. It's not really READY for the tourist traffic that it receives. I can see coming here for a vacation and spending thousands and thousands of dollars on overpriced tourist activities... but I'd rather not. If you have the opportunity to stop in, by all means do that, but don't go out of your way.

At the Temple

In India, we went to the temple. The kind lady who carries me around took me out to take this picture and a woman who was asking the tourists for money, nourishment, everything, dropped what she was doing and really really wanted to take ME home with her. She forgot all about the money, nourishment, everything else that she was in need of and all she wanted was me. My tour guide was not as receptive to that, and it was an awkward and little bit startling of an experience.

Also? I had to take my shoes off. Bleh. These white lamb feet were not happy.

I also went to Auroville, and was terrified, and we saw crocodiles galore, and I was terrified.

This concludes my India tour.

Building in India

Silly me. In my last post I forgot to mention that I'm here building a house. Now, this is my second trip with Habitat for Humanity. The first one was to Maui and I wore my very own hawaiian shirt! I didn't have anything to wear here. We actually worked on FOUR houses!

I just moved sand, mainly. And played with the goats. They wouldn't really allow me to do much else. BUT, I am a good lamb and volunteered. And look how clean I stayed!

 And I also made a friend or two...

Lucas in India

I'm in India! I don't know how to say that in Hindu, or the other hundreds of languages that are spoken here, but in English, I'm in India!

Check me out! I'm in Pondicherry! Which "speaks French," although I couldn't understand any of it. Not a huge tourist destination, so my pale little body was looked upon strangely a number of times. Really strangely.

Yellowknife! #yzf

Hello from the rock! I just finished a whirlwind tour of the beautiful city of Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. That's in Canada for those of you who don't know. Despite Yellowknife's reputation for being rich in gold and diamonds, I didn't return with pocketfuls of either. I was also fortunate enough to be able to put that one hour piloting seminar to good use. This is the entrance to the plane, RIGHT?
